'An Impossible Astronaut shall rise from the deep and strike the Time Lord dead.'
So, to say the Doctor Who convention was amazingly nerdy would be an understatement. It was fantastic.
First I saw a panel of people who make the show. They didn’t tell us what episode they were going to talk about. But then the Doctor’s voice shouted- ‘You’re in a faster timestream!’ and I smiled. My third favourite episode- ‘The Girl Who Waited’. At which point Tom MacRae (Writer), Marcus Wilson (Producer), Neil Gorton (Millenium FX) and this guy whose name has been forgotten by me (sorry random guy who did the design of the handbots) came onto stage. They discussed how they made and developed the episode from Tom writing to us watching. It was a fantastic insight to a fantastic episode.
After that, I saw the special effects ‘show’ hosted by Danny Hargreaves. Basically it was explosions, guns and loads of epic stuff.
Then I had a photo with Matt Smith! That made my day complete. He was really nice and friendly.
Next I saw the Steven Moffat, Caroline Skinner, Matt Smith, Karen Gillan and Arthur Darvill panel. They were brilliant. They discussed series 5 and 6 and what we are going to see in series 7. Karen, Matt and Arthur are hilarious. Especially when Matt and Arthur both did an impression of Karen xD
Then I went on the Tardis studio tour which was probably my highlight. I got to play around with the console and act like I was 5 again.
Before I left I got an autograph from Simon Fisher-Becker (Dorium) and Mark Sheppard (Canton) who were both nice people to chat with. Also got a picture with Mark Sheppard!
Oh and I met Steven Moffat. Bumped into him as I left. I asked him, knowing he wouldn’t answer, ‘I know you won’t tell me, but you’re going to kill one of the Ponds aren’t you?’ He replied: ‘Yes… I’m not going to tell you’. He then laughed and hoped I enjoyed my day. MOFFAT! XD
All in all an amazing day.
